What GeoRelics Currently Supports

  • Live map layers from third-party providers
  • Outdoor point-of-interest discovery from OpenStreetMap via Overpass
  • Place search
  • Favorites and visited markers stored locally on your device
  • Deep links using georelics:// and geo: URLs

Troubleshooting

The map does not load

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Try switching to another map layer in Settings.
  • If you selected a Thunderforest layer, make sure you entered a valid Thunderforest API key.

Nearby places are missing

  • Zoom in further. GeoRelics loads POIs only above the configured zoom threshold.
  • Open the filter screen and verify the relevant categories are enabled.
  • Some POIs may be hidden by default when tagged as access=no or access=private.

Search does not return results

  • Try a broader query, such as a town or landmark name.
  • Search depends on the external Nominatim service and may occasionally rate limit or time out.

Location is unavailable

  • Ensure Location Services are enabled on your device.
  • Confirm that GeoRelics has permission to access location while in use.

Data Sources

  • Map tiles: selected third-party tile provider
  • POIs: OpenStreetMap via Overpass API
  • Search: Nominatim
  • Reference images: Wikimedia / Wikipedia when available

Response Time

Support is handled by email. Include your device model, OS version, app version, and a short description of the problem.
